IEBOnline Judge Training Clinic

Join us for this 90-minute training clinic ahead of IEB Online 2026, held Wednesday, November 4, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., online via Zoom. As a judge, you’ll help students reason carefully through some of today’s most challenging ethical questions and engage productively even when they disagree. Ethics Bowl isn’t a typical debate format: it rewards the depth and breadth of a team’s thinking, their ability to work through complex problems, and how well they consider perspectives different from their own. Judges evaluate individual matches against these criteria and take part in Q&A sessions with each assigned team.

No prior experience or specialized background is required. This training will walk you through everything you need to know before match day. If you haven’t already, sign up to volunteer here. All Judge Training Clinics are identical, and volunteers need only attend one.
