Opening Day Celebration and Ribbon Cutting

Join the Prindle Institute for Ethics on Saturday, October 10, from noon to 4 p.m. for the Opening Day of Voices and Votes: Democracy in America, a Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition making its Greencastle debut. Tracing the history of American campaigns, elections, and the fight to expand participation, the exhibition raises big questions about who gets to shape our democracy and what it takes to sustain it.
Opening Day is the public’s first chance to experience the exhibition. Doors open at noon, with welcome remarks and a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. Throughout the afternoon, visitors can join docent-led tours, try out games and activities, and add their signature to a virtual Declaration of Independence. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Voices and Votes remains on view through November 20.
