The Institute Hosts Inaugural Middle School Ethics Bowl

The Prindle Institute proudly hosted the inaugural Putnam County Middle School Ethics Bowl on March 8, 2025. This first-of-its-kind event in Indiana brought together bright young thinkers from North Putnam, South Putnam, Greencastle, and Cloverdale Middle Schools to engage in thoughtful and collaborative discussions on challenging ethical issues.
The day began with a rousing welcome from our Manager of Campus Ethics Programs, Haley Thompson before teams competed in preliminary and final rounds. After a series of impressive and insightful discussions, North Putnam Middle School emerged as the first-ever champion of the Putnam County Middle School Ethics Bowl—congratulations to this team for their outstanding performance!
A huge thank you to all participating students, coaches, and schools for making this event a success. We are also deeply grateful to our volunteers and judges, whose dedication made this competition possible. The Prindle Institute is excited to continue expanding ethics education opportunities for young students, and we look forward to future iterations of this program!
This pilot program is generously supported by a 2024-2025 project grant from the Philosophy Teaching and Learning Organization (PLATO).
