APPE Opens Submissions for 2027 International Conference
The Association for Practical and Professional Ethics has opened its call for proposals for the 36th Annual APPE International Conference, set for March 4-7, 2027, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. An online-only session will follow on April 2, 2027, for those unable to attend in person.
This year’s conference theme, “Examining Ethics and Power,” invites scholars and practitioners to consider how power shapes ethical decision-making across professional, institutional, and global contexts. Proposals might address how institutions perpetuate or prevent harm, how ethical frameworks can expose and challenge unjust power relations, or how the misuse of power is normalized or contested in public and professional life. Topics of interest span a wide range of applied ethics subfields, from bioethics and business ethics to AI, epistemic injustice, and restorative justice.
APPE welcomes proposals from researchers, educators, and professionals across all disciplines. Submissions are due October 5, 2026, via the APPE website. Early bird registration is now open. Rates are $115 for students, $300 for APPE members, and $550 for non-members through July 31.
