Cancelled – Express C.A.M.P.
It is with great sadness that we announce that Express C.A.M.P. 2020 has been cancelled due to concerns about the virus that causes COVID-19. DePauw University has cancelled all guest speaker events and programming that were scheduled for summer 2020. Children already registered for the 2020 camp will be given priority registration for our 2021 camp.
Here are the parts of the official message from DePauw University concerning the cancellations that affect this event:
“Due to the continued threat of the virus that causes COVID-19, we have regretfully decided that there will be no on-campus summer programs. This includes on-campus faculty-student summer research, on-campus internships and student employment, and on-campus summer camps…While difficult to make, we believe this decision is in the best interest of community health and safety, decreases the chances of an outbreak on campus, and ensures we do everything we can to continue typical opening plans for fall term.”
We truly regret that our opportunities to meet, engage, and work with Putnam County children in July have been compromised because of the current circumstances. When this situation resolves, we hope to be able to continue the meaningful connections we have begun to make with all of you.

The following information is being retained on the page for informational and archival purposes only. It is no longer accurate.
Express C.A.M.P. (Character, Attitude, Morals, Perspective) is a week-long summer camp led by local Putnam County K-5 educators and college-aged counselors that’s designed to teach first- through fifth-grade children how to actively engage with others who might have different views, while also encouraging them to express and develop their own values.
All those currently on the 2019 waiting list who do not get a spot this summer will receive priority for 2020 registration as long as we have your current and correct email address and/or telephone number.
