Field trips are available for grades 2–12. Groups may include up to 40 students. The standard chaperone ratio is 1 adult per 10 students (1:8 for grades 2–4).

Fall 2026 pathways are built around the Smithsonian Institution's "Voices and Votes: Democracy in America" exhibition, on view October 10–November 20, 2026.

Field trips are available Tuesday–Thursday during the academic year (September–May). Please request at least four weeks in advance.

The Institute can provide indoor or outdoor dining space. Lunches must be provided by the school.

All field trip experiences are offered free of charge. We are exploring transportation assistance for schools with demonstrated need.
