New on Teaching Children Philosophy for Fall 2025
The Institute is reinvigorating its Teaching Children Philosophy library this fall with brand new discussion guides that bring ethical questions to life through children’s books. Built on a facilitation method that encourages children to ask questions, share ideas and reason together, these guides help educators, parents and facilitators open meaningful conversations with young readers about fairness, courage, history and imagination. The guides are designed to support dialogue rather than provide easy answers, showing children that philosophy is something they can do. New additions will be made monthly throughout the year.
New titles in the collection include:
Later this fall, Teaching Children Philosophy will also debut curated collections, and we’re excited to announce this much requested feature. These themed sets of books and guides make it easier to plan units, events and conversations. Perfect for classrooms, libraries and museums, the collections are designed to spark imagination while building critical thinking skills. The first collections will include the civil rights movement, to promote conversations about justice and fairness; Caldecott Award winners, to celebrate the best of children’s literature; and spooky stories, to make you think—just in time for Halloween!
