June 9 - June 10

Third Way Civics: A Workshop for Faculty

June 9 - June 10 at The Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics 2961 W County Road 225 S
Greencastle, IN 46135 United States

Join us at the Prindle Institute for Ethics for a hands-on workshop designed to integrate civic learning into undergraduate education. In partnership with Minnesota Humanities and the Community Engaged Alliance, this two-day event will bring together Indiana faculty to explore a “Third Way” pedagogical approach—moving beyond political divides to create a more balanced and effective civic education.

The workshop will take place on Monday, June 9, and Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Prindle Institute for Ethics at DePauw University. It will be led by Dr. Trygve Throntveit, an educator and author, and will focus on practical strategies to enhance information literacy, civic literacy, and student agency—without requiring new courses or major curriculum overhauls.

Participants will receive all meals during the workshop and a $600 stipend for active engagement.

Spots are limited, and participation must be confirmed by March 15, 2025. For questions or to secure your place, please contact us at prindleinstitute@depauw.edu.
