Rebecca is a retired nonprofit communications professional with absolutely no formal credentials in philosophy. Although she’s reached the age when Socrates drank his hemlock, she’s not quite ready to do that. Instead, for the past two spring terms she’s been a member of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill’s Intergenerational “Thinking with Philosophy” class. Led by UNC Parr Center for Ethics Outreach Director Michael Vazquez, Ph.D., older adults and undergraduate students explore an array of philosophical topics from ancient to contemporary.
